Worlds Largest Snake


The world’s largest snake is the green anaconda. Anaconda is found in Amazon rain forest of South America. The river Amazon in a home to most of the anaconda snakes in the world. It belongs to the family of non venomous boas which are found in Centra and South America, Africa and Southeast Asia. Anaconda can grow as long as 8 meteres long and wide as a fully grown men. It can reach the weight as much as 250 kilograms. These characteristics make it the biggest snake in the world. Male anacondas wrap themselves around the female anacondas in an attempt to mate. Females are stronger than males so they can decide on which males to mate with regardless of its size and strenght. Anacondas gestation period is seven months and their litter size is about 20 to 50.

Anaconda is non venomous but still can feed on you. It wraps around your body and uses constriction to squeeze your body which prevents breathing and raises body’s temperature up to three times until you most likely die from an heart attack. Anaconda is considered a king of all snakes because of it total body mass. The worlds biggest snake ever measured was almost 28 feet long and 44 inches wide. Scientist estimate that it should have weighted over 500 pounds. Worlds largest snake spends most of its life in rivers hunting for food. By nature, anacondas are shy and are not easily seen. Anaconda is very well camouflaged in the swapms and bogs in which it thrives. It can hard to estimate the lenght of the anaconda because it mostly spends time in the river and it is diffucult to see the entire snake. In a coal mine in Columbia in 2008, scientist found the world’s biggest snake that have ever lived. It was 43 feet long and weighted 2,500 pounds. It was large enough to prey on crocodiles.

Anacondas are members of the boa constrictor family. They wrap themselves around the prey to kill and then swallow the victim whole. Worlds largest snake eats aquatic creatues, but occasionally it is known to eat caimans, other snakes, deer and jaguars. Anaconda is a slow moving snake. It has teeth but does not use them for chewing. Its teeth are used for holding onto its prey to prevent it from escaping. Anaconda is not a venomous snake. It relies on its enormous size and power to subdue its victims. Anacondas bite is possible but not fatal.

      I’m no rocket scientist but largest can mean length or weight. I believe 2500 is more then just under 1000…
